How it works.

The human/plant connection

The endocannabinoid system is truly still in the beginning stages of its research. The ECS is believed to have involvement in regulating physiological and cognitive processes, including fertility, pre- and postnatal development, pregnancy, various activities of the immune system, appetite, pain-sensation, mood, memory, and in mediating the pharmacological effects of cannabis. The future of using phytocannabinoid extracts to optimize the ECS has just begun.

The plant.

Phytocannabinoids are chemicals found in cannabis that are similar to the endocannabinoids produced in the body. Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 113 different phytocannabinoids discovered thus far within cannabis. While CBD has received most of the attention, emerging research is finding a variety of potential benefits from other important phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids within cannabis.

The human.

Your body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that produces endocannabinoids, which are chemicals that balance numerous functions. These functions include but are not limited to- the reduction of inflammation and pain signaling, mood regulation, stress/anxiety relief and healing. Science is now showing that when your body’s system becomes deficient in its own endocannabinoids, that leveraging “phytocannabinoids” can assist in reestablishing balance.

Endocannabinoid System

Beyond producing cannabinoids, the ECS is also responsible for the expression of receptors throughout the vertebrate central nervous system, including the brain, and peripheral nervous system. These receptors interact with both endo and phyto cannabinoids, thus allowing the noticeable effects that many encounter with cannabis based herbal supplements.
